Age Requirements & Brewing/Winemaking Laws
Though it is not our goal to determine who is responsible enough to make and consume beer or wine, it is our goal to protect ourselves and stay in business. Federal law states that it is permissible to allow the manufacture of beer or wine at home in the United States. Despite that many states allow any adult to brew up to 100 gallons of beer or wine per household, some states consider this illegal. Please refer to your local laws before making beer or wine at home. Laws regarding homebrewing and winemaking can be found at http://www.beertown.org/homebrewing/legal.html. Please use this only as a reference as this may not reflect the most current laws. We only condone the manufacture of beer or wine by adults of legal age in any area where it is legally permissible. If you do not meet these criteria, you may not purchase our products at this time. However, if you are using our products for the manufacture of non-alcoholic beers and soft drinks than we will be happy to serve you!
Ingredient or Item Substitutions
Under rare circumstances, certain ingredients or parts of kits may have to be temporarily substituted for another ingredient or part. For example, if ecological conditions cause major hop shortages, certain hop varieties may become temporarily unavailable. In situations such as this, we will include a substituted item that will retain the original integrity of the recipe or kit.
International Shipping Restrictions
Certain countries have restrictions on which items are allowed to be imported. For example, cereal grains and hops may not be allowed into certain countries for agricultural quarantine purposes. Because the list of countries and restrictions continually change, customers may inquire about shipping restrictions before making a purchase. All customers buying from outside of the United States must inquire about shipping restrictions before making a purchase when buying all cereal grains, hops, herbs, spices and any other agricultural products. If buyers purchase items which can not be legally shipped without determining eligibility first, a refund will be given for the amount paid less any fees incurred by the seller. Please do not request that international shipments be identified as a 'Gift' on customs documents. We strive to do business with integrity and must by truthful on customs documents.
